Ballroom at Cipriani 42nd Street adorned with elaborate centerpieces created by interior designers

On May 2, 2024, more than 500 Neighborhood House supporters and friends reunited at Cipriani 42nd Street to celebrate “Flights of Fancy”—our annual Spring Gala celebration to raise critical funds for 16,000 New Yorkers in need.

41 renowned interior designers lent their talents to create elaborate centerpieces to serve as a magnificent canopy for the evening, which honored Board Member Thomas L. Melton and presented the Elizabeth Rohatyn Award for Community Service to the New York Health Foundation and Lifespire.

Diana Quasha served as Gala Chair Emerita. Dinner Sponsors included Thomas & Ingrid Edelman, Stanley Shuman, Wilkinson Global Asset Management; Benefactors included Neha Motwani-Lepanto & Dan Lepanto, Yesim & Dusty Philip; Saara Pritchard & Thomas Melton, Marianna & Juan Sabater, Edward & Julia Weld; Patrons included Chele & Richard Farley, Beth & David Greenwald, Elizabeth P. Munson &  Robert L. von Stade, Tracy & Weston Quasha, Helene & Hugh Tilney, Hedi & Tom White; Friend supporters included Ann & Mal Barasch, Christie & Adam King, Ali & Greg Kwiat, Renée & Carl C. Landegger, Anne & John Manice, Lisa & Christopher Manice, New York Health Foundation, Pritchard Industries, Zohreh Pritchard, Steve Rabin & Jonathan Winslow, Margery & Stephen Riker, Jane Silfen, The Soloviev Foundation, Jane M. Spinak & Warren B. Scharf, Christopher Spitzmiller & Anthony Bellomo, Jacqueline & Charles Warren. The media sponsor was New York Cottages & Gardens.

Stewarded by Honorary Design Chair and Board Member Christopher Spitzmiller, and Design Chairs Lindsey Harper and Harry Heissmann, the acclaimed lineup of designers used this year’s “Flights of Fancy” theme as inspiration for their wonderous tablescape designs.

Guests enjoyed a beautiful cocktail reception and table viewing, followed by dinner, live music and dancing. Jennifer Wright of Christie’s led a spirited Paddle Raise, and the crowd was dazzled by a captivating mentalist performance by Magic Mike Jacobson.
